Synopsis: Construction staking of the designed new sanitary
sewer system for the City of Wilmington. The project consists of 35,000
linear feet of gravity sanitary sewer. Each manhole and bore point is
being staked with offsets, which will survive the project. In addition,
the plans indicate utility conflicts, which were staked out at the beginning
of the project so the contractor could perform soft digs to obtain data
on the existing utility. The surveyor is correlating this information
and appropriate adjustments are being submitted to the engineer for
revision.

Staking required numerous lifts of material as specified in the design
plans with the elevations of each lift certified as to compliance prior
to beginning the next. Upon completion of the landfill and the subsequent
improvements, a final as built was provided both in hardcopy and digital
format of the landfill cells and all improvements constructed.

Synopsis: This project was let in two phases, the first contractor
on site built the subgrade, storm drain & major structures. Our
portion of the work was the layout for the fine grading and paving.
With the project broken up the way that it was, NCDOT control was gone
by the letting of the second phase. Survey control was established by
surveying the existing in place major structures then the design alignment
was "massaged" to tie to them. This worked perfectly and the
project went smoothly.

Synopsis: The soil on the site had been contaminated due the
processes involved in the production of electricity at the site. The
general contractor is removing the soil and treating it to remove impurities.
The surveys divide the area into grids, and existing grades are established.
Once the soil is removed, additional grades are collected thus measuring
the amount of soil that has been treated. Volume reports and as-built
drawings are submitted for the use of the contractor and their staff.

Project: Establish Aerial Control Targets
Project Size: 400 Acres
Project Location: Near Asheboro, Randolph County, North Carolina
Date of Completion: July 2003
Synopsis: Establish aerial control targets as directed by the
photogrammetrist for the project site. Flight lines and target locations
are determined by the photogrammetrist and communicated digitally to
the surveyor. The targets and existing NCGS control data are then plotted
for field use. Once the last target is set, the photogrammetrist will
be notified that the site is ready for flight. After QA/QC procedures
are completed a list, (asc file) will be sent to the photogrammetrist
along with a certification letter for the data provided, containing
the X,Y,& Z values for each target.

Synopsis: Topographic Survey and mapping of the property owned
by the client at the time of survey. All existing terrain and manmade
features located and mapped for design services. Upon completion of
the existing survey, a set of engineering drawings will be produced.
Upon request the site features (curb and gutter, building pad, building
corners, storm systems, sanitary sewer systems etc.) will be staked
for construction.
